Tomorrow is a big day for Arrasate and it’s inhabitants. Every first Friday of October the whole town joins in dancing, singing and drinking. Why? It’s Maritxu Kajoi (literally, Little Mary in a box), one of the largest festival in the region. Read more…
Saturday was the last day of the 57th San Sebastian Film Festival. We decided that this was an event we could not miss, so we asked our lagunas (Oihana, Eneko and Irati) to join. We took off in the morning and headed towards the Atlantic. Read more…
Today we met up with other Erasmus students in the region. They don’t take classes in the same building as ours but at other faculty’s, in Oñati and Arrasate. HUHEZI arranged a get together and through a speeddating game everyone got to know a little bit about one another. Read more…
Today we met up with our laguna’s in Mondragon (Oihana, Eneko and Irati). They’re fellow students who guide as around the region. We went to the local Irish Pub (truly every city’s got one!) and got to know each other. Read more…
Before we came to Bergara our Basque contacts emphasized that bringing down a car would be very useful, almost necessary to get around in this region. Sadly enough Koen was the only one in possession of a car licence, and neither one of us has a car so we were compelled to bus rides. Read more…
The Basque language is one of a kind. Not related to any other language, the vocabulary seems made up by a three year old, containing a whole lot of x’s and k’s. On top of that, it’s hard to find any structure at all (although there really is one). Read more…
