Love you soo much, my dear Erasmus Friends!!!

BC is very, I mean veeery, different from Estonia. There are both advantages and disadvantages. But living in another country on your own is always a great experience. I think that was cool time in my live and I am going to miss it.

I liked university, especially because it is in a very beautiful architecturally old building. The relationship between teachers and student are more like colleges, and I like that, feel myself more comfortable with this.

The nature, of course, it is amazing and fascinating all the time. Just look out of my window and feeling happier.

But most of all I am going to miss my new friends. This time that I spend with them I will never forget!!  Four month living with Natalja made us a really good friend, so we can rely on each other (I hope=)))

We made a deal to visit each other, for example Fleur, Linsey and maybe Wilco want to come to see Estonia. And I will be really happy to meet them. I know for sure, that if I will go to Holland I will visit them as well.

We had great time all together: learning, partying, raveling, helping, especially at the beginning, and now it is difficult to separate. But everybody misses his family, so, this is the live. Anyway, hope you all liked our Erasmus live in Mondragon (P.S. Mondragon will never forget us as well!!! =)) Thanks to everybody, I LOVE YOU ALL, ERASMUS PEOPLE!!!

P.S.S. Wthat happened in Mondragon, stays in Mondragon. This is the rule, don’t break it, hahahha!!! Kisses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impression about working on EITB.COM

December 12th, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

Today was my last day at EITB practice.

What can I say about it … I think this is a good opportunity that university provides students with practice. In Estonia we don’t have this. It is also good to know how do work web news portals and different programs that are making it work.  The structure of news is also different and working not in your mother language makes it more difficult.

I liked that we were free in our choices. We could pick up different topic we liked, choose pictures and so on. It is a pity that portal doesn´t produce its own material, because I was really looking forward to do my own articles.

And the last thing, practice on a week-end is not a good idea. Other students were free on week-ends, so, a lot of time we couldn´t join them.

Anyway, thank you, my dear colleges. Maybe will see each other, who knows =))

Mao Mao Beach

December 12th, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

It is almost one week before I go home. Actually, I am not going home but this is another story. So, now I am trying not to waste my time and enjoy my last days. We went with Natalja to party in Bilbo with some of our local friends. To be honest, I have expected something more modern and more similar to European clubs.

Anyway this place, called Mao Mao Beach, is very popular. We were queuing for about an hour and it was pretty cold. But thanks to our friends we got some warming drinks. It was funny that when the security saw our DNIs he was very astonished that we are from Estonia. We told him that we came here just to a party and he was happy with it =)) You can also have one free cocktail, whatever kind you want. Good commercial.

The inside club is like an old fabric. Only think that makes it more beautiful are dancing boys and girls. But still we were partying till the morning light and it is something new and different.

Swimming in Cantabrian Sea in December

December 2nd, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

The weather yesterday was very bad, but I dint want to sit at home and went with my fried to SPA. We went to San Sebastian’s SPA at the coast called La Perla. It is very old and luxurious, before there were relaxing only very important and rich people. Nowadays it is opened to the public.

It has a many jacuzzis, swimming pool, gym under the water, different saunas, rooms for relaxing and a very, very beautiful view on a sea. After I got very warm I decided to make something crazy. So, we run into we sea. The water was about 6 degrees and it was raining like cats and dogs.  But I’ve got amazing feelings.

I would like to visit La Perla once more and I strongly recommend you to do this as well!!

Madrid at night

December 2nd, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

Madrid at night is also gorgeous. Big city lights make you feel cosy. There are a lot of Christmas decorations as well and companies such as: Coffee with cinnamon and other spicy stuff and cream at Sturbucks café.

We went at San Miguel Market. Great place to eat and drink in the evening with friends. There are located different tants with food and drinks. For example, tant with cheese and special wine for that and so on.

It was also great morning in Madrid with nice breakfast. The most typical to eat in the morning is churros with hot chocolate. It is soo tasty, but very fatty, so, you can fulfill your stomach for the whole day.

Three days in Madrid

December 2nd, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

I thought that I should not miss opportunity to visit capital of Spain Madrid. So me and Natalja went to this city on Thursday. The 4 hours in a bus were ok because we had a nice company with some local guys. We were very lucky with the weather. Sun was shining and a blue sky was hanging above Madrid.

Firstly, I noticed that Madrid is very Clean and modern. People there are un rush, nothing compare with Mondragon. Traffic jams are 24 hours a day. But there are nice parks like Parque de Retiro. It is very big with castle, fountains, monuments. One of the best places to relax and walk with a family.

I strongly advise you to take a MadridVision bus. It costs 17 euro, but you can hop on and off during one day whenever you want. It has two different lines: old city and a modern city. So you can observe the whole Madrid.

Im sorry, how was your name?

November 23rd, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina 2 comments

Names in BC are very interesting and also very difficult. I’ve never heard all these names before: Iñaki, Beñat, Ander, Aitor, Itxasu, Lander, Gorka, Olaz, Iker, Eikaiz (like the name of our favoreti bar), Eneko, Nekane, Itziar, Xabier, Mikel, Txema, Idoia, Maialen, Leira and so on.

So, it is nothing to do with typical Spanish names and ,also, it is impossible to pronounce and, more over, to remember them. A lot of names you can hear everyway, they repeat very often.

And why people  dont want to look for something more special and to put more effort on their’s child?

Muy trankilo

November 23rd, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina 1 comment

Muy, muy trankilos busses are here.

I dont know why, but sometimes it is  really funny. In Mondragon, for example, are three or four bus stops and in each stop is written the same timetable. At the begining I was thinking: “Why the busses are always late?”. So, after I understood a point. They just decided at what time bus should be in Mondragon and just put the time and nobody cares that, actually, this bus can spend in a village 15 minutes.

You dont have anything to do just to wait. So, now then I want to take a bus, for example, at 10.40 I can calmy walk at this time on my way and take a look if there are some nice coockies in bacary.

But then you are in a different city, situation gets harder. The last time bus from Bilbao to Arrasate-Mondragon didnt come and we (Natalja, me and Wilco) waisted two hours of our time, after 7 hours of working, in a bus station.

Of course, we went to a bar and took something to drink, but still….. muy trankilo!!

Sport and the village

November 13th, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

I dont know about other villages or sities, but here in Arrasate people really like to do a lot of spors, especially to climb the mountains. My local friend is so active, that sometimes I think he is crazy. Bicycle, mountain, football, poker, swimming, work and fiesta, that can be almost all at the same day. Sometimes I join him just because I am curious (I am not really sport fan).

So, today me, Natalja and him went to Udalaitz. Some of my friends maybe couldnt believe that, but I did it!!! It was very hard at first, but then my body got used to pressure I felt myself better. Udalaitz – one of the biggest mountain in Gipozkoa. The view from the top is increadable. And there were a lot of people. Once I was at enother place and there were so many people, so I couldnt even really enjoy the nature.

In my country people go more to jums because we just dont have mountains or so many beatiful places. And ofcourse the weather – last 2 days it is just paradise. Dont want to go back to cold Estonia (there can be 5 degrees and a little snow with rain).

My first surfing experience

November 10th, 2010 Viktoria Zigulina No comments

It was the first time in my live i went to surf. And it happened not just somewhere but in one of the most popular places in the world, where surfers are coming especially to catch the vawes in Zarautz, Basque Country, Spain.

We organized a two hours class with two great teatchers. At first, I was thinking that i wont go to the water, because it was rainig so strong and the wind was blowing like crazy. We put our suits took board and went to the beach.

At the begining, we were practising on the beach, making some funny but usuful exersices. After we went to the water which was 16 degrees. You dont feel any cold any more, you are just very exited and want to cach your first vawe, what is almost impossible…

We were in water two hours. I was trying to stand for some second on a bord hundrers of times but only 3 of 4 time I could do that. This is a great feeling then you are standing on a board and under it is running a strong vawe. I, actually, was thinking to wait and catch bigger  vawes because the bigger the vawe the better you can stand.

Now I can understand why people are doing this kind of sport. I wish I could do this one more time.
