Almost always (if not always) the reality out on the street, the truth in which we live, is much better than the medical facts, political, legislative or technological. The needs that we as a society we find in our preceding lives well in advance of what we have and can use.
Koldo Meabe is a parent of Ortuella that went into a hunger strike because he claims not bears to see his daughter suffer for his absence. The 25th of January he began his protest and after 37 days he continues his battle against what he believes to be a great injustice. In this fight, Koldo is not alone, as well as family, acquaintances, social networks, blogs and other supporters, has the support of, among others, the association La Terraza, which strives to protect the right of the children to live and share their life’s their parents, in which neither judges, prosecutors and even neither parent may render, “except for serious reasons, tangible and always well informed.”
If something sparked my interest here is Koldo´s particular strive of Koldo that, unlike what we’re used to seeing, he´s not fighting for financial reward or booty staff but ask for “respect and defend the rights of the minor “, something that certainly honors him in which these days when so often the child are used as trade. While sometimes struggles, fights or protest are seem destined to fail, this is not the case because there are more than 160 municipalities that support joint custody, the first being the autonomous community of Aragón since 2010 set by law as referent joint custody of the children in case of divorced parents that can not reach an agreement.
And as I said before, this fight is not in vain, above the merely legal and final outcome of this battle this is important Koldo because one day your daughter will know you fought for her against all odds and that everything you have done is in the interest of the other, pure love. Aupa jarraitu eta!
